Injections and infiltrations in musculoskeletal medicine?

To inject or not to inject?

Injections or infiltrations are often used to treat some types of arthritis, bursitis and some types of tendinopathy.  Which products are used?  Corticosteroids, procaine/xylocaine/lidocaine, hyaluronic acid, platelet rich plasma (PRP, sclerosing products?

Sometimes it is also useful to use “diagnostic” infiltrations, to confirm or te exclude a hypothetical diagnosis.

Reaching a good diagnosis is a priority as well as the practical part of the injection/infiltration procedures.

I would like to share some references with you that highlight the efficiency of certain procedures.
